Mckaden Whippets was proud to introduce Meritt, Am MSBIS Ch Can Ch Mckaden Flying Colors NC, to the whippet fancy in Topeka, Kansas at her first American Whippet Club National Specialty and Top Twenty event. 

Meritt’s Top 20 Bio

Hailing from north of the border (British Columbia, Canada) 2022 was Meritt’s long-awaited post-pandemic return to the AKC show ring… and she lived up to her namesake!

In late May, we returned to the USA with 1 point from the puppy classes earned nearly 3 years prior. That first weekend, Meritt picked up both majors. Our next show was the AWC Pacific Northwest Regional Specialty in Hillsboro, Oregon. Meritt was awarded Best of Breed from the Bred-by class, repeating it the next day at the Cascade Whippet Association Specialty to finish her championship title. Moved up for Sunday, Meritt was awarded her 3rd Specialty Best in Show - a hat trick! SBIS #4 followed in August at the Western Washing Whippet Association Specialty.

Despite being entirely breeder-owner handled, not campaigned (or even shown since early September), Meritt managed to wrap up the year as the #13 Whippet - amusingly, just 1 point short of her Grand Championship.
